P. C. Vasu Mallik (1911–1977), son of Raja Subodh Chandra Vasu Mallik and Kamalprabha Devi, was a distinguished educationist and administrator closely associated with the National Council of Education, Bengal. After completing his studies at Presidency College, Calcutta, he pursued higher education at Trinity College, Cambridge. He subsequently served as a lecturer in History at Presidency College and Hindu College, Delhi. In 1948, he joined Jadavpur College of Engineering and Technology as Registrar under the National Council of Education, Bengal, and later became the first Registrar of Jadavpur University. In 1972, he became a member of the State Planning Commission at the invitation of Shri Siddhartha Shankar Ray, Chief Minister of West Bengal. In 1975, he was appointed President of the National Council of Education, Bengal, a position he held until his death in 1977. The documents and photographs in the P. C. V. Mallik Collection were generously contributed by his son, Professor D. C. V. Mallik.
