This approach promises to streamline the development process and improve efficiency. Cross-platform mobile development technologies, such as React Native, offer a practical approach to streamline the development process by enabling a single codebase for multiple platforms. However, the research concludes that the advantages of cross-platform technologies over native development are not clearly defined. This thesis focuses on evaluating the viability of cross-platform technologies, specifically those that leverage native functionality to deliver a familiar user experience. React Native, a popular cross-platform framework, is chosen as the subject for a detailed investigation. The aim is to assess both the development experience and the user experience of cross-platform mobile application development.
