Abstract: The Aravalli mountain range trending NNE-SSW is one of the most prominent physiographic feature of the Western Indian Shield rich in different mineralization. This geological region is characterized by several metallogenic provinces. Kayad is a mineralized belt in Ajmer that extends over a strike length of 60 km from Kharwa (37 km southwest of Ajmer) in the southwest to Hoshiara in the northeast (13 km northwest of Kishangarh). It is famous for Pb- Zn mineralisation . Hzl under Vedanta had started mining in this area five years ago due to its richness with respect to lead-zinc deposits and also extracted silver and cadmium as by-products, however there has not been any extensive study with respect to the different types of ore deposits , the rock types and mode of occurrences of sulphides as well as ore genesis and hence lack of any publication . Thus the study claims at understanding the different types of ore deposit , mode of occurences of sulphides as well geochemical analysis of Zn-Pb to get an idea about the possible causes of ore mineralisation through field and handspecimen study of the rocks followed by thin section analysis and finally EPMA and LAICP- MS study of the minerals
