dc.descriptionSakharam Ganesh Deuskar was known as a brave patriot, author and journalist in Bengali politics and literature. After teaching for sometime in Deoghar School, he came to Calcutta in 1897 and became associated with the newspaper Hitobadi, and was its Assistant Editor for many years. In 1907, he became Editor. Initially he taught History at the Bengal University founded by the National Council of Education, Bengal. He joined the Swadeshi movement, and was the principal organizer of the Shivaji Festival held in Bengal from 1902 to 1906. Deuskar wrote twelve books and many nationalist essays in Bengali, including Desh-er Katha.en_US
